Good morning all!
It's the first day of our cleanse and I don't know about you, but I'm pumped! I've got my green juice in hand and I'm about to get prepared for the rest of my day.
I'm sure by now all of you have a juicer and have watched the documentary. "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead."
While 21 days seems long, let's not forget the two men in the documentary did JUST juice for 60 days! So we got this. Speaking of just juice, Lauren and Frank are taking an extra challenge and juicing only for a few days. Starting on Friday and going as long as they can. If you would like to take that challenge with them - go for it!
As for the caffeine - I know this is a challenge to let go of for many of you, esp. when you are not getting enough sleep. I'm hoping that the juicing and eating of pure foods will make you eventually eliminate the need for your cup of Jo in the morning. But, Jillian, I like the track you are taking with it. Bringing it down to one cup rather than your usual three. I will challenge you further in saying that, maybe by week two, only half a cup...then week three a quarter cup to maybe no coffee! Or even switching it up to green tea. See how it goes.
I encourage all of you to share how your day goes today and if you have anything to add about this process - please do by commenting on this post!
I'm so proud of you all for taking this challenge with me! Lots of love,
Emily
Emily, I was actually thinking about doing something like that. I will see how my energy level is. I think I can eliminate it it I find something to take it's place!
ReplyDeleteSounds good! Let me know how your progress goes!! xo
DeleteWell I got through day one. I just got home from poker and cooked up the rest of that salmon and mashed potatoes. I then ate like 20 almonds and some dried fruit. Is that too much? I know what I can eat, but I'm not sure how much. Suffice to say, I was starving! Anyway, looking forward to the cravings for "outside" food subsiding a bit. All I want is French Fries!
ReplyDeleteI felt starving too at times day one too. After eating 3 mayoless egg salad with romaine lettuce wraps, with sides of hummus, avocado, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers - I still felt so hungry! And I asked myself the same question - if I eat more, am I over doing it?? Then I remembered that I hadn't drank that much water. I downed a couple glasses and what felt like a bottomless pit of a stomach, felt full and satisfied. And I felt that way for hours. Sometimes that hunger feeling is actually mistaken and it's your bodies way of letting you know that you are thirsty. Here is a great article about this :

So don't forget to keep hydrated!!
