I don't know about you, but I'm feeling lighter and better today! I woke up starving, but I also woke up feeling like I had shed some weight. I'm sure we all know that feeling - where suddenly you can just feel that you've lost weight. The crazy thing is I feel like I'm eating a lot of food!
Lauren mentioned in the last post that she gets full faster and hungry faster. I can't definitely relate to that feeling. A kick start in the metabolism? Maybe. It could also be that the simpler foods like fruits, veggies, fish, chicken are just easier for your body to processes and eliminate. When eating processed foods, it takes our bodies a long time to get rid of all the strange and unusual ingredients that are put in there. This may be too much information, but we are all family and friends here. Before this process my poops were hard and like rabbit pellets. I would spend and annoying about of time on the toilet. Well, let me just say - it's more often but a LOT less time.
I definitely miss the crunch of a potato chip or even a rice chip! The smell of pizza and in-and-out drive me crazy and I think about eating that kind of food several times throughout the day. But, I'm loving the way I'm feeling right now and that keeps me going.
Let me know how your progress is going - Are you seeing results? Any changes? Having any struggles?
Stay strong,
Emily
Lauren, Morgan and I were faced with multiple temptations yesterday; macaroni salad, potato salad, chips, sandwiches, lemonade and tons of desserts! I am so proud of the three of us! We ate salad with olive oil and balsamic, veggies, nuts and drank water. Those are the situations I dread, but we did it! I feel ligher, more focused and in general just happier. Stella has even gotten in on the juicing as well! Keep up the good work everyone!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you had each other to lean on and stay strong. I'm proud of you too! All of those things are seriously temptations, just the words macaroni salad make me drool! I love that you are including Stella in the juicing too! Is that straw you sent me a picture of earlier what she drank it from? ;P
DeleteI visited my parents last night. they are doing their own version of the diet, which is almost exactly like this only they've included my father's staple; steak. There was plenty for everyone. I drooled everywhere, but managed to keep the delicacy away from my face, because I wouldn't have been able to handle the subconsciously ingrained Catholic guilt. I would've had to post it here, confessing my gastric sins:
ReplyDelete"I ATE STEAK LIKE A JUDAS LOSER."
Anyway, I feel good. Day 2 I got a migraine and i had a nagging headache throughout Day 3, but I feel better today. The scale, isn't indicating much weight loss, however I am working out more than I usually do, so hopefully i'm gaining muscle. I have a secret desire to re-acquire the 6 pack abs I rocked as a high school freshman (the demise of which I blame on my discovery of 6 pack beer), but we'll see! To achieve this, I'd have like 30 pounds to lose, if not more.
FYI, I fully intend on creating my own juice recipe. When I do, it shall be named "The Spruce Juice". I'll bottle it and put Leo DiCaprio's face on it.
I feel your pain with those headaches Frank - I got them days 1 and 2 - not fun! It sent me to my room, laying in the dark with an icepack on my head. I tried drinking a LOT of water to get rid of them - but, they just needed to go on there own time. It's interesting that we have to go through a couple days of pain sometimes to get to the good results. I hope you are not getting them anymore!
DeleteAlso impressive that you didn't give into your temptation! And I can't wait to try "The Spruce Juice" :)
I've lost about a pound or two! I feel pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Angela told us about a pizza crust we could make made out of almond meal, and homemade tomato sauce and veggie toppings! Since goat cheese has no lactose, I would think it would be ok, right?
I read that almond meal is just almonds - so yes! Goat cheese would be acceptable - but I would focus packing your pizza with lots of veggies and so chicken. Because cheeses can be processed, you want to stay away from those kinds of things during these next couple of weeks. Or check with a place like Whole foods and say, "do you have any raw goat cheese or any unprocessed goat cheese?" This would be your best option. Please share the recipe once you get it!
DeleteOh man, please say yes.
ReplyDeleteEmily? EMILY?????
